Gophers Announce 2021 TV Schedule

All of Minnesota's 2021 home games will be televised
2021 SCHEDULE
MINNEAPOLIS - The Big Ten Conference has announced that 14 University of Minnesota volleyball matches will be televised on BTN during the 2021 campaign. The Golden Gophers will be featured on BTN or streamed on BTN Plus for every match this season besides five. ESPNU has picked up three of Minnesota's games, including the season opener against Baylor in Madison, Wis., on Aug. 27. The Gophers will also play TCU in Madison on Aug. 28, their first game of the season televised on BTN.
Following Minnesota's home opener against Texas (BTN) on Sept. 1, Hugh McCutcheon's squad travels to Gainesville, Fla., to take on the Florida Gators on Sunday, Sept. 5 in a game that will be shown on ESPNU. The Gophers then travel to Eugene, Ore., for the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge on Sept. 10 and 11, where they'll play Stanford and Oregon on consecutive days. Both these games will be streamed on the Pac-12 Network. Minnesota completes non-conference play the next weekend against Iowa State and St. Thomas in the Diet Coke Classic. Both games will be simultaneously streamed on BTN+ and FOXÂ local.
Minnesota begins conference play at home against Michigan on Sept. 24 on the Big Ten Network. After a Sunday matinee against Maryland (BTN+) at the Pav, the Gophers will again travel to Wisconsin to take on the defending Big Ten Champion Badgers. The game is set to take place on Friday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. CT on BTN. The Gophers continue a four-game road stretch on Oct. 2 at Northwestern (BTN+) before traveling to Michigan to take on the Wolverines (Oct. 8, BTN) and Spartans (Oct. 9, BTN+). The 'U' opens up a four-game conference home stretch with a Wednesday night battle with Northwestern, a 7 p.m. start on BTN. Minnesota then hosts Indiana on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. on BTN+.
The Gophers stay home for the next week to prepare for a couple nationally televised games at the Pav against Penn State (Oct. 22, BTN) and Ohio State (Oct. 24, ESPNU). The PSU game is set for 6 p.m. while the OSU game will begin at 4 p.m. The Hoosiers play host to Minnesota on Wednesday, Oct. 27 in a 6 p.m. start on BTN before the Gophers come back to the Pav to host the Huskers in a Saturday primetime battle on BTN.
The month of November begins with three road games against Ohio State (Nov. 4, BTN), Illinois (Nov. 6, TBA) and Iowa (Nov. 11, BTN+). The OSU and Iowa games are set for 6 p.m. CT while the Illinois game is still to be determined. A three-game home stand begins on Sunday, Nov. 14 when the 'U' hosts Purdue at 2 p.m. on BTN. After that is senior weekend when Rutgers and Wisconsin come to town. The game against the Scarlet Knights is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. on Fox local and BTN+ while the Badgers game is on Sunday at 4 p.m. on BTN.
Minnesota completes its 2021 regular season on the road on Thanksgiving weekend against Penn State (Nov. 26) and Maryland (Nov. 27). The Gophers and Nittany Lions will play in primetime on BTN while the Maryland game will be on BTN+.
BTN's coverage of Big Ten Volleyball will be the largest in the Network's history, with at least 47 matches on linear television and all non-televised matches scheduled for Big Ten Network+ (NOTE: please be sure to refer to the stream by that branding, rather than prior incarnations such as BTN Plus or BTN+).
Another six contests will air on ESPN2 or ESPNU, giving the Big Ten at least 53 matches on linear television during the 2021 season.
