Meet the Freshmen: Anna Wolf

Wolf is a middle blocker from River Falls, Wis.
Anna Wolf is a freshman middle blocker from River Falls, Wis. She played for River Falls High School and Minnesota Select Volleyball Club. Named Wisconsin Division I First Team All-State as a senior, Wolf led River Falls to its fourth straight state semifinal appearance as a senior. As a junior, Wolf was named to PrepVolleyball.com's Top 50 junior recruits, Volleyball Mag's 13 Top Junior Prospects and also earned All-America status from JVA.
GS: Why did you choose Minnesota?
AW: I chose Minnesota because I loved the location of the school, the mentality of the team and coaches, and the campus itself. It has been my dream school since third grade.
GS: How did you first get into volleyball?
AW: I got involved in volleyball through my mom. She played in high school and she helped me get started.
GS: How have summer classes been going so far? Do you know your major yet?
AW: My summer class has been good! I learned a lot of helpful information that will help me going into the fall semester. I haven't decided a major yet but I am thinking of something in business.
GS: How would you describe yourself as a player for someone who has never seen you play before?
AW: I am a competitive person who is determined to do my job for my team as best as I can.
GS: Why did you choose number 17?
AW: I chose No. 17 because it was the number that I wore my first year of club. That was the year I fell in love with the sport.
GS: What's the best piece of advice you've gotten so far from your new teammates?
AW: The best price of advice that I've received is to ask questions and not be afraid to make mistakes. Practice is a time to learn.
GS: What are you most looking forward to in your freshman season?
AW: I am looking forward to having the Pav filled up again. It brings such a fun energy to the game.
GS: Is there a team you're most excited to play against?
AW: I am excited to play Ohio State because our game against them last year was canceled. It will be a competitive game!
GS: What goals do you have for yourself as a player?
AW: I hope to improve in my technical skills as much as possible as well as improving my leadership.
