Maroney records 333 all-purpose yards in double overtime victory
In a thrilling 42-35, double-overtime victory over the No. 10 ranked Boilermakers at the Metrodome, Laurence Maroney registered 333 all-purpose yards to rank second in school history. With his career-high 217 rushing yards in the contest, Maroney became only the sixth player in school history with 3,000 career rushing yards.
Over the course of his career from 2003-05, Maroney often found himself in the Gophers record book. He sits second in school history for single season rushing yardage (1,464 in 2005) and rushing yardage per game (133.1 in 2005). Maroney holds the record for 100-yard rushing games with eight in both 2004 and 2005. He also sits atop the record board for career rushing yards per game (109.3).
