Former Linebacker Campbell Named First-Team All-Pro

Former University of Minnesota linebacker and current Green Bay Packer De'Vondre Campbell was named first-team All-Pro today. 

Campbell signed with the Packers on June 9 after spending two years in Arizona and three in Atlanta. He started all 16 games he appeared in for Green Bay and posted a career-high in tackles with 145. He recorded 101 solo stops, making him just one of five players to total more than 100 solo tackles this season.  

Campbell defended five passes, notched two interceptions, made two sacks, forced two fumbles and recovered one fumble. According to the Packers, Campbell was one of only three players – joining former Gopher and current Tampa Bay Buccaneer Antoine Winfield Jr. and Derwin James of the Los Angeles Charles) with multiple interceptions, sacks and forced fumbles.  

Campbell played three years at Minnesota and started 27 of the 39 games he played in. He made 208 career tackles, which included 129 solo stops. Campbell also tallied 16 career tackles-for-loss and 6.5 sacks, while recovering three fumbles and forcing two fumbles. Campbell also notched two career interceptions, one of which he returned 30 yards for a touchdown at Michigan in 2014.

As a senior, Campbell led the team in sacks with 4.0 and finished third in tackles (92) and solo tackles (53). He also tallied 6.5 tackles-for-loss, broke up three passes, made one interception and forced one fumble. Campbell was named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention as a senior by both conference coaches and media.
