Gophers Shorthanded for Today's Game vs. Iowa

1/16/2022 9:44:00 AM | Men's Basketball

MINNEAPOLIS-The University of Minnesota men's basketball team will be without two assistant coaches and four student-athletes (Eric Curry, Sean Sutherlin, Danny Ogele and Joey Kern) for today's game against Iowa due to either illness, COVID-19 health and safety protocols or injury.

Last month, the Big Ten Conference announced that teams must have seven scholarship athletes and one coach available to compete in conference games. Head coach Ben Johnson will be coaching in today's contest, along with assistant Marcus Jenkins. The Gophers will also have eight players - seven on scholarship - available for today's game.

Minnesota hosts Iowa at 1 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
