Winfield Added to Pro Bowl Roster

Former Gopher just completed his second NFL season
Former University of Minnesota defensive back and current Tampa Bay Buccaneer Antoine Winfield Jr. was added to the Pro Bowl roster today.Â
Winfield, who is in his second year in Tampa Bay, played for Minnesota from 2016-19. He recorded 177 tackles (126 solo), made seven tackles for loss and four sacks for the Gophers and finished his career with three touchdowns (one punt return and two interceptions returned). He made nine career interceptions and tied a modern-era school single-season record with seven interceptions in 2019.Â
As a senior in 2019, Winfield was named a Unanimous All-American, All-Big Ten First Team and was also the Big Ten's Defensive Back of the Year after recording 88 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and two forced fumbles. He was one of five finalists for the Bronko Nagurski Award, which is presented to the best defensive player in the nation.
Winfield helped lead the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl championship in 2021 and he has been of of Tampa Bay's most productive players in two seasons. This year, he finished third on the team with 88 tackles and recorded 2.0 sacks, four tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, two interceptions, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
