Taylor Landfair Named Big Ten Player of the Week

She averaged 5.00 kills per set this week in two wins
CHICAGO, Ill. -- Minnesota redshirt sophomore outside Taylor Landfair has been named Big Ten Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Landfair averaged a team-best 5.00 kills per set in sweeps over No. 24 Michigan and Michigan State this past weekend. She also tallied 5.75 points, 1.17 digs and 0.67 blocks per set.
She went for a team-high 18 kills on .452 hitting on Friday at Michigan and 12 kills on .500 hitting Sunday vs. Michigan State. Landfair also added in an assist, block and four digs on Friday and an ace, three blocks and three digs on Sunday.
The Plainfield, Ill., native won Big Ten Freshman of the Week twice in the spring of 2021, but has never won player of the week.
The No. 10-ranked Gophers (9-5, 4-2 Big Ten) take on No. 6 Ohio State (9-5, 5-1 Big Ten) on Wednesday (7 p.m) and Illinois (8-8, 3-3 Big Ten) on Saturday (3 p.m). Both matches will be televised on Big Ten Network.
