MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota volleyball's Rachel Kilkelly, Taylor Landfair, CC McGraw and Jenna Wenaas have been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday. The 2022 Academic All‐District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Each player has appeared in every match so far this season, helping the Gophers to a 18-8, 13-5 Big Ten record and a No. 9 national ranking.
To be considered for a CSC Academic All-District Team, nominees must meet the following criteria:
• A student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
• Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
• No student-athlete is eligible until he/she has completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and been on a college roster in that sport for two years.
• In the cases of transfers, graduate students, and two-year college graduates, the student-athlete must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution to be eligible. Nominees in graduate school must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above both as an undergrad and in grad school.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CCS Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-December. Minnesota ranks tied for tenth all-time with 189 Academic All-America honorees.
