Fifteen Gophers Named to WCHA All-Academic Team

Minnesota records fifteen honorees for the second-consecutive year.
MINNEAPOLIS – Fifteen Golden Gopher women's hockey players are among the 120 student-athletes honored as 2021-22 WCHA All-Academic Team honorees, the conference announced Wednesday.
Lauren Bench, Abigail Boreen, Emily Brown, Josey Dunne, Taylor Heise, Crystalyn Hengler, Olivia King, Olivia Knowles, Maggie Nicholson, Emily Oden, Gracie Ostertag, Makayla Pahl, Catie Skaja, Audrey Wethington, and Madeline Wethington round out the list of Golden Gopher honorees.
Representing all eight WCHA member institutions, the WCHA All-Academic Team includes student-athletes who have completed one year of eligibility at their present institution, prior to the academic year, and have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the previous two semesters or three quarters.
Brown and Knowles lead all Gophers as four-time honorees. Three-time honorees include Heise, Oden, Ostertag, and Skaja. Boreen, Hengler, King, Pahl and Madeline Wethington each earn their second honors. Bench, Dunne, Nicholson, and Audrey Wethington are each first-time winners with Minnesota.
The WCHA All-Academic Team is collected with the help of the Faculty Athletic Representative from each of the member institutions.
