Gophers Volleyball Announces Spring Schedule

Minnesota hosts one home match, vs. UST in April
MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota volleyball program has announced the dates and opponents for its 2022 spring schedule. The Golden Gophers will compete four times, starting on April 2.
Minnesota will start by taking on 2021 NCAA First Round opponent South Dakota at Blue Earth High School on Saturday, April 2 at 2 p.m. Warmups are set to begin at 1:30 p.m.
The Gophers will then take on North Dakota State on Saturday, April 9 at Lakeville North High School. The scrimmage will take place in the afternoon, with the official start time to be decided at a later date.
On Thursday, April 14, the 'U' will host St. Thomas at 7:30 p.m. for its only home match of the spring at Maturi Pavilion. Doors will open at 6:30 and warmups are set to begin at 7 p.m.
Minnesota's final spring competition comes on Saturday, April 23 at Simpson College (Indianola, Iowa) against Kansas State. This match will also take place in the afternoon at a time still to be determined.
All Minnesota spring scrimmages are open to the public and free of charge.
The Gophers are coming off a 22-9 (14-5 Big Ten) 2021 season that saw them make the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. Minnesota finished No. 7 in the AVCA final rankings, their seventh straight year finishing in the top 10.
The 'U' returns five starters from last year's team, including two All-Americans in libero CC McGraw (2019, 2021) and outside Taylor Landfair (2020-21). 2021 Second Team All-Big Ten honoree Jenna Wenaas is back for her junior year and the Gophers added three top-ranked 2022 recruits, including consensus No. 1 overall prospect Mckenna Wucherer.
