We're In; Minnesota Heads to NCAA Norman Regional

MINNEAPOLIS - The Road to Oklahoma City has started and the Minnesota softball team knows the task at hand heading to the 2022 NCAA Tournament in Norman, Okla., and will face Texas A&M in the opening game.
The Golden Gophers (26-24-1 overall) are making their ninth-straight trip to an NCAA Regional as the No. 3 seed behind its RPI of 38. The Maroon & Gold earned an at-large bid into the 64-team tournament thanks to its challenging schedule as it played the eighth-most difficult schedule in the country, including the second-toughest slate of non-conference action.
Minnesota put together an impressive resume with nine wins against teams in the RPI top 50, five of which came against opponents in the top 25. The Gophers won twice over top-10 foe Northwestern and added victories over Arizona State (No. 8), Michigan (No. 16) and UCF (No. 17) along with a tie at Texas (No. 19). The 'U' also battled teams that made the 2022 tournament a total of 28 times this season.
It'll be the 16th appearance at the NCAA Tournament for the Gophers where they hold an all-time record of 27-31 (.466).
