Minnesota and TeamAltemus have had a relationship for nearly a year
Gopher Athletics is continuing its partnership with industry-leaders TeamAltemus and Anomaly Sports Group to help provide educational opportunities to Minnesota student-athletes as they continue to navigate and benefit from Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) and the department's recent announcement that it will provide education-related financial support to student-athletes starting in the fall.
"We have enjoyed our partnership with TeamAltemus," said Minnesota Senior Associate Athletic Director Peyton Owens. "It is critically important for us to provide educational opportunities and financial literacy opportunities for our student-athletes as they continue to grow and evolve in this new space. With TeamAltemus – and our own student-athlete development services – we now provide floor-to-ceiling educational opportunities for all Gopher student-athletes. The response from our student-athletes has been extremely positive and we look forward to continued engagement in the future."
Minnesota and TeamAltemus have had a relationship for nearly a year, but are continuing to offer these educational services to Gopher student-athletes as more opportunities become available to them. For the last several months and in the future, TeamAltemus will conduct workshops with student-athletes in conjunction with Minnesota's MINdset program, which is the department's comprehensive NIL program. TeamAltemus focuses on decision-making, due diligence, financial management and understanding contracts, in addition to many other topics.
"The University of Minnesota athletic department is passionate about delivering full protective education to all its student-athletes," said TeamAltemus CEO Courtney Altemus. "Golden Gopher athletics prioritizes programs that will help student-athletes be "Champions for Life," and we're honored and excited to help with that mission! TeamAltemus and Anomaly Sports Group are thrilled to help Golden Gopher student-athletes learn how to navigate real-time NIL situations using our athlete pedagogy, repeatable processes and technology. Go Gophers!"
