Big Ten Opponents Set for Gopher Men’s Basketball Team

The University of Minnesota men's basketball team will compete in 20 Big Ten regular-season conference games during the 2022-23 season, announced the league office today.

Dates, times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date, as will Minnesota's nonconference schedule for the 2022-23 season. 

Minnesota will play the following seven schools at home and on the road next season: Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, Purdue, Rutgers and Wisconsin

The Golden Gophers will welcome Indiana, Iowa and Penn State to Williams Arena this season, and will play road contests at Michigan State, Northwestern and Ohio State.

The 2023 Big Ten Championship will be held March 8-12 at United Center in Chicago.  

The 2022-23 season marks the second year under head coach Ben Johnson. Minnesota returns six letterwinners, including starter Jamison Battle. The Gophers also welcome seven newcomers to the roster this season. Minnesota opened summer workouts Monday.
