University of Minnesota head men's basketball coach Ben Johnson has announced today that redshirt junior forward Isaiah Ihnen (Boeblingen, Germany) suffered a season-ending knee injury in practice late last week and will undergo surgery.

"It's disappointing to see Isaiah go through this after he worked hard to get back on the court this year and made significant strides to his game this summer," Johnson said. "We will be with him every step of the way in his road to recovery."

Ihnen, who missed the 2021-22 season due to a left knee injury, reinjured the same knee. Ihnen saw action in 29 games during the 2020-21 season, including three starts to average 2.8 points and 3.5 rebounds. As a freshman in 2019-20, Ihnen played in 21 games and averaged 3.4 ppg.
