Vetter Named December's WCHA Goaltender of the Month

Sophomore goaltender Skylar Vetter earned her second Goaltender of the Month honor this season after recording three consecutive shutouts.
MINNEAPOLIS – Sophomore goaltender Skylar Vetter has been named December's WCHA Goaltender of the Month after a nearly perfect four-game stretch to close out the first half of the 2022-23 season.
Skylar Vetter has earned her second conference monthly honor this season after back-to-back WCHA Goaltender of the Week awards to open the month of December. The sophomore netminder posted a 4-0-0 record against Minnesota State and No. 14 St. Cloud State while only allowing one goal on 68 shots throughout the month. Vetter's three consecutive shutouts to close out 2022 extended her currently-active shutout streak to 226:23.
The Lakeville, Minn., native closed out the first half of the season with a 12-3-2 record, a 1.91 GAA and a .923 Sv%. Since the awards' inception in 2018, Vetter is the only Gopher to win two WCHA Goaltender of the Month honors. She currently ranks second in the WCHA in shutouts (4) and save-percentage (.923).
