Liepert and Pinto Reach Doubles Quarterfinals at 2023 ITA Regionals

LAWRENCE, KS - The University of Minnesota tennis program continued their success in main draw doubles play on the third day of the 2023 ITA Regional Championships, as Gopher duo Sofia Pinto and Mia Liepert will move on to the doubles quarterfinal round tomorrow. The pair earned their bid today after defeating Nebraska's Jillian Roa and Maria Taranova 8-5.
Minnesota was knocked out of the singles main draw as Pinto and freshman Emma Belluomini each fell in today's round of 32. Pinto lost in a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 match to Oklahoma State's Anastasiya Komar, and Belluomini was defeated 5-7, 0-6 by Indianna Spink of the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.

The Gophers will compete in the doubles main draw quarterfinals on Sunday, once again beginning at 9:00 a.m. (CT) at Jayhawk Tennis Center in Lawrence, Kans.
