Minnesota Hosts Drake, St. Thomas on Sunday

The Golden Gophers host the Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. and the Tommies at 2:30 p.m. at Baseline Tennis Center.
MINNEAPOLIS– The University of Minnesota tennis program stays in the Twin Cities for the second weekend in a row as it hosts both Drake and St. Thomas. The Maroon and Gold will compete against Drake at 10 a.m. and St. Thomas at 2:30 p.m on Sunday, Feb., 12. Both matches will be played at Baseline Tennis Center and are free to attend.
The Gophers competed at Baseline Tennis Center against Marquette and South Dakota last weekend and won both matches to improve their season record to 2-2 overall.
Drake is 3-2 on the season, defeating South Dakota, Marquette and Kansas City, while falling to Iowa State and Wichita State. St. Thomas opens its 2023 season this weekend with matches against Drake and Bradley on Saturday before playing at Minnesota on Sunday.

The Gophers are 32-2 all-time against Drake and have won the last 11 matches dating back to 2003. The teams first met in the fall of 1975, when Minnesota triumphed 6-3 past the Bulldogs. In their most recent match, Minnesota won 6-1 on January 22, 2022.
Minnesota is 2-0 all-time against St. Thomas. The teams first met in 1977 and met again in 2022, when Minnesota won 7-0..
