University of Minnesota standout Jamison Battle has been named to the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team.

Recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution in order to be nominated. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.

Battle, a two-year forward starter for the Golden Gophers, has seen action in 97 games over his four-year college career, including 50 with Minnesota. The Robbinsdale, Minn., product has scored over 1,400 points and 500 rebounds during his collegiate career. This year with the Gophers, Battle averages 13.1 points and is coming off a 31-point game against Illinois Monday night. During his Gopher tenure, Battle has started in all 50 games he's competed in, scored 783 points and averaged five rebounds a game. In his first year as a Gopher in 2021-22, Battle was named a Big Ten Honorable Mention when he led the team in scoring with 17.5 ppg, good enough for sixth in the Big Ten. A Preseason All-Big Ten selection this year, Battle is also a team captain and averages 13.1 ppg. Off the court, Battle is a sports management major and holds a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.

Minnesota is set to play Maryland tonight at 6 p.m. CT in College Park, Md. The game will be broadcast on Big Ten Network and KFAN 100.3 FM.
