Quarles Named Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week For Second Time in 2023

MINNEAPOLIS – University of Minnesota redshirt senior Maddie Quarles has been named Co-Event Specialist of the Week, the Big Ten announced Wednesday. Quarles earns her second Big Ten weekly award after her vault performance on Friday against Arkansas.
In the Gophers' regular season finale, Quarles recorded a 9.950 on vault. This is the fifth time this season that the Andover, Minn. native has recorded a score of 9.900 or higher in 2023. She earned her first Big Ten weekly award after her first career perfect 10 at the Big Five meet on Feb. 25.
The final regular season national rankings have Quarles at No. 8 in the country, as she holds an NQS of 9.920 and an average score of 9.852.
Quarles and the Gophers will travel to Coralville, Iowa for their conference tournament on March 18 at 11 a.m. CT.
