Spann-Ford Named Preseason All-American by Walter Camp Foundation

Gopher tight end caught 42 passes last season for 497 yards and two touchdowns
University of Minnesota tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford was named a 2023 Walter Camp Preseason All-American today. Spann-Ford was placed on the Second Team.
The St. Cloud, Minn., native started all 13 games last season and led the team in receptions (42) and was second in receiving yards (497) and receiving touchdowns (2). He was named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2022 by the league's coaches and media.
Pro Football Focus has Spann-Ford ranked as the No. 2 tight end returning to college football for the 2023 season and describes him this way.
Spann-Ford is arguably the most well-rounded tight end returning to college football.
The redshirt senior's 82.5 run-blocking grade in 2022 ranked second among FBS tight ends, while his 82.1 receiving grade placed eighth. His 2.22 yards per route run also ranked fourth among all tight ends. No matter what the Golden Gophers asked of him, Spann-Ford delivered.
For his career, Spann-Ford has made 70 catches for 822 yards and five touchdowns.
