Four Gophers Receive CSC Academic All-District Accolades

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota softball team had four student-athletes named to the CSC 2023 Academic All-District Team, it was announced Tuesday. Natalie DenHartog, Maddy Ehlke, Sydney Strelow, and Amani Bradley all earned academic all-district honors.
The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 6 for softball. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
Graduate outfielder, Natalie DenHartog, receives this honor for the third time in her career and advances to the All-America ballot. DenHartog has started all 54 games this season, batting .314 with 35 RBI and 40 runs scored. The Hopkins, Minn., native also picked up All-Big Ten Second Team and NFCA Great Lakes All-Region First Team honors.
Junior Maddy Ehlke leads the Golden Gophers with 14 doubles with just 37 hits this season. Ehlke is batting .319 and has made 34 starts this season as the designated player. The accolade is her first recognition from CSC and second academic award, she was named to the Academic All-Big Ten Team as a sophomore.
Kenosha, Wis., native Sydney Strelow has started all 54 games this season with five home runs and 22 RBI. Strelow scored the game-winning run against Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals, this is the first time the senior has been recognized by CSC.
Graduate outfielder, Amani Bradley made an immediate impact to the Golden Gophers' lineup since she joined the roster after transferring from Cal. Bradley has started all but four games with 15 RBI and 14 runs scored. Â
The Golden Gophers will compete tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. CT against McNeese to begin their NCAA Tournament campaign. Tomorrow's game can be streamed live on ESPN+.
