Pease has allowed one earned run in her last 58 innings pitched

MINNEAPOLIS – After collecting two more shutout wins through 14 innings of work over the weekend against the Michigan Wolverines, fifth year senior Autumn Pease has been named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Continuing her streak of 11 consecutive wins in the circle for the Golden Gophers, Pease pitched two complete shutouts, allowing seven hits, and tossing 14 strikeouts over the weekend. The fifth year senior leads the conference in wins (25) and strikeouts (243), nationally she ranks fourth in wins and fifth in strikeouts.

The award marks her fifth career weekly honor from the league and fourth this season. Pease is the first Minnesota pitcher to win back-to-back-to-back weekly awards since Amber Fiser in 2019 (April 15, April 22, April 29, and May 6). With the accolade, Pease becomes the 10th pitcher in Big Ten history to win four weekly awards in a single season.

Pease and the Gophers start their postseason run this weekend at the Big Ten Tournament in Champaign-Urbana, Ill., on Thursday. The Golden Gophers will be the No. 3 seed and will face either 11th-seeded Rutgers or sixth-seeded Ohio State on Thursday at 11 a.m. CT.
