MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota will have six swimmers -- current and former -- present at the Phillips 66 National Championships in Indianapolis, Ind., beginning June 27 and wrapping up July 1.

Rising seniors Megan Van Berkom, Chris Nagy, William Christenson, Kaiser Neverman will join sophomore Eliot Kennedy and recent graduate Max McHugh at the Indiana University Natatorium for the event.

After placing 11th in the 1650 Free at the Big Ten Championships, Kennedy is making her first appearance at the Phillips 66 National Championships. She will be swimming the 800 Free with a current personal record of 8:49.93 in the event.

A 2023 First-Team All-American, Van Berkom is returning to the Phillips 66 National Championships after placing ninth in the 400 IM at the meet last summer. At this year's meet, in addition to the 400 IM, she will compete in the 200 Fly and 200 IM. The senior-to-be has already qualified for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials and will represent the United States at the World University Games later this summer. Currently, Van Berkom holds school records in the 200 Fly (1:53.89) and 200 IM (1:54.92), and her 400 IM (4:03.45) best time ranks No. 2 in school history.

Neverman, the current school record holder for the 200 LCM Fly, will compete in the 50 Fly, 100 Fly, 200 Fly and 200 IM at the Phillips 66 National Championships this week. The Green Bay, Wis., native placed 10th in the 200 Fly and 13th in the 100 Fly at last summer's Phillips 66 National Championships, and will look to have another successful outing at the event in 2023. Neverman has also already qualified for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials.

The four-time NCAA Champion, who recently wrapped up his University of Minnesota career with his third-straight 100 breast title in March, will compete in the 50 breast and 100 breast at the Phillips 66 National Championships. Last summer, McHugh earned a fifth-place finish in the 100 Breast at the event and will strive for another strong performance this year. Like Neverman, McHugh has already qualified for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Nagy will return to the Phillips 66 National Championships to compete in the 1500 Free and 800 Free after placing 7th in the 1500 and 14th in the 800 last summer. The San Diego, Calif., native will represent the United States at the World University Games later this summer, and has also qualified for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Christenson will compete in the 200 Fly and 400 IM this week after breaking the 2:00 barrier in the 200 Fly for the first time in May. Christenson will also represent the United States at the World University Games and has qualified for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials. The Olympia, Wash., native placed 15th in the 400 IM at last summer's Phillips 66 National Championships.
