CSCAA Recognizes 19 Gophers with Scholar All-America Honors

MINNEAPOLIS -- The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its 2023 Scholar All-America teams Friday with 19 Gophers earning first or second-team honors. Minnesota was represented by 14 women and five men.
Four Gopher women -- Vivi Del Angel, Av Osero, Megan Van Berkom, and Joy Zhu -- earned first-team honors, while the men had three: Max McHugh, Bar Soloveychik, and Chris Nagy.
In order to be named a member of the first-team, student-athletes must have earned a minimum GPA of 3.50 and participated in their respective national championship. Second-team honors were awarded to student-athletes who maintained a 3.50 GPA while also meeting the NCAA 'B' standard or participating in the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.
