Eleven Gophers Named to USA Women’s Hockey National Festival Roster

Five current Gophers and seven Minnesota alumni are among the 77 athletes invited to this year’s festival in Lake Placid, N.Y.
MINNEAPOLIS – USA Hockey announced on Tuesday morning the roster of 77 athletes who will participate in the 2023 USA Hockey Women's Festival. The event will take place Aug. 7-13 and will serve as a pre-camp before the U.S. Women's National Team, U.S. Under-18 Select Team and Collegiate Select Team are expected to be announced Sunday, Aug. 13.
Five current Gophers; Peyton Hemp, Madison Kaiser, Abbey Murphy, Skylar Vetter and Madeline Wethington will join six Minnesota alumni; Emily Brown, Taylor Heise, Amanda Kessel, Kelly Pannek, Lee Stecklein and Grace Zumwinkle to complete the list of 11 Maroon and Gold representatives at the Festival.
The 2023 Festival will be held at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, N.Y. The camp brings together the top American female players from the U18 level to the national team and will assist in the evaluation process for the 2023-24 U.S. Women's National Team that's set to compete during the 2023-24 Rivalry Series in November and December, and the selection process for the U18 and Collegiate Women's Select Team rosters for the U18 & Collegiate Series against Canada that will take place Aug. 16-19 in Lake Placid.
