Kylie Murr Named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week

The fifth year libero registered 5.71 digs per set this weekend
CHICAGO, Ill. -- Minnesota fifth-year libero Kylie Murr started her Gopher career off with a bang, tallying 40 digs (5.71 digs per set) and 15 assists as the Gophers went 2-0 in the Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge to open the year.
She posted 27 digs and seven assists in the four-set win over TCU on Friday night. Murr followed that up with 13 digs and eight assists in a sweep of No. 15 Baylor on Saturday. The 'U' held its opponents to just .067 hitting for the weekend, a figure that ranks No. 7 nationally.
The Ohio State transfer has 1,975 digs in her career and has a chance to reach 2,000 during this week's games. It's the fifth time in her career that Kylie was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.
The No. 5 ranked Gophers play host to defending national champion and No. 7 Texas (1-1) tomorrow at 7 p.m. on BTN.
