Today, the University of Minnesota tennis program released its fall schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season. The program's latest campaign, featuring four tournaments (including one at home), coincides with the celebration of fifty seasons of Women's Tennis at the 'U'.

The team will open the season by hosting the eleventh annual Gopher Invitational at Baseline Tennis Center from Sept. 15-17. This tournament is set to mark the team's first series of matches since last March, before injuries forced their 2023 spring season to be cut short.

The Gophers will then go on the road for the San Diego State University Invitational in San Diego, Cali. from Sept. 29-Oct. 1. This will be the second straight season that Minnesota competes at the SDSU-hosted tournament.

The maroon and gold are then set to compete in the ITA Central Regional Championships, which will be held by the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kans. from Oct. 12-16.

Rounding out the fall season will be a trip to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Bulldog Classic (hosted by Drake University), taking place Nov. 3-5.

The upcoming season will be head tennis coach Lois Arterberry's first at the 'U', and will also mark the Gopher debuts for assistant coaches Steve Schram and Anastasia Pennington

Like the coaching staff, this year's roster features several new faces. Freshmen student-athletes Emma Belluomini and Mia Liepert, as well as sophomore transfers Anali Kocevar and Sofia Pinto will all join returning players Zeyneb Sarioglan, Sofia Pizzoni, and Aiva Schmitz for the 2023-24 campaign.

Additional schedule information, including the spring schedule, match times, and broadcast information, will be announced at a later date.
