Eighteen Gophers Recognized with 2023 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award

MINNEAPOLIS – Eighteen Minnesota student-athletes have been named winners of the 2023 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award, the 1A Faculty Athletics Representatives have announced.
The 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award is given to student-athletes who graduate with a cumulative GPA of a 3.80 or above and have participated in at least two years of NCAA intercollegiate athletics at a Football Bowl Subdivision institution.
For the 2023 distinction, recipients must have been awarded a bachelor's degree for the previous academic year of Sept. 1, 2022-Aug. 31, 2023.
Within the Big Ten, only Ohio State (29), Penn State (23) and Indiana (19) had more honorees than Minnesota. The 18 Gopher award winners, listed below, represent 11 sports.
