MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota's Max Brosmer was named to the Davey O'Brien Foundation's Great 8 quarterbacks for Week 6 after his performance in the Gophers' win over No. 11 USC Saturday.

Brosmer completed 15-of-19 passes for 169 yards, but his biggest impact came on the ground as he scored all three of Minnesota's touchdowns via rushing scores.

He became the first Gopher with three or more rushing touchdowns in a game since Mohamed Ibrahim had three against Northwestern in 2022 and the first Gopher quarterback to do since Mitch Leidner had four against San Jose State in 2013.

The first touchdown came late in the second quarter on a 1-yard sneak that put Minnesota up 10-7. The final two both came in the fourth quarter, first on an option that covered five yards to tie the game at 17-17 with seven minutes to play, then again on a 4th-and-goal from the 1-yard line with 56 seconds remaining.

For the season, Brosmer is 117-of-173 for 1,263 yards and six touchdowns to four interceptions. His completion percentage of 67.63 percent is currently on pace to break the program record of 66.9 set by Tanner Morgan in 2019. On the ground, Brosmer has four rushing touchdowns to rank second on the team.

With his honor, Brosmer has officially been placed on the Davey O'Brien Award Watch List.
