Averaged 25 points, shot over 60 percent from the floor and from three.

MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota freshman Grace Grocholski has been honored by the Big Ten for the third time this season as the conference's Freshman of the Week for her performances last week against Rutgers and Northwestern.

The North Prairie, Wis., native scored at a rate of 25 points per game while shooting 69.2 percent from the floor (18-of-26) and 68.4 percent (13-of-19) from three during last week's action. Grocholski tied a freshman single-game record with seven threes in one game with seven against Rutgers to finish with a team-high 23 points. Against Northwestern the freshman started a perfect 8-of-8 from the floor, including 5-of-5 from three, on her way to a career high 27 points in a win over Northwestern.

This season Grocholski is the only freshman to have multiple games this season with 26 or more points (vs Norfolk St. and vs. Northwestern) and leads all Big Ten freshmen this season with 16 games of double figures scoring. She leads all Big Ten freshmen in scoring both overall (11.7) and during conference play at 11.9 points per game. Grocholski is also just one of two Big Ten underclassmen to average 11.9 points while shooting 45.6 percent from the floor and 38.8 percent from three during Big Ten play (Serah Williams, Wisconsin).

With her third weekly honor this season Grocholski now has the fourth-most in a single season for the Gophers since the award started in 2009. The record for a single season is tied between Amanda Zahui B. and Destiny Pitts (seven times) with Banham (five times) third on that list.

Grocholski and the rest of the Gophers are in action on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at home against Wisconsin (12-12, 5-9 B1G). Fans interested in buying tickets for Gopher women's basketball this season can find more information at https://z.umn.edu/24sznTix or by calling the Minnesota Ticket Sales Office by phone at 1-800-U-GOPHER or by email at gophersports@umn.edu.
