Kreisz, Lindsay Named to Rookie of the Year Watch List

MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota freshmen Emma Kreisz and Ava Lindsay were named to the National Women's Rookie of the Year "Watch List" by the Hockey Commissioners Association.
The list is comprised of 25 first-year women's hockey players across five NCAA Division I conferences. The winner of the National Rookie of the Year will be voted on by the nation's assistant coaches and will be announced during the Frozen Four in Durham, N.H. in March.
Kreisz is the most recent Gopher to surpass the 20-point mark for the season after assisting on two goals Friday, Jan. 26 against Minnesota State. The Budapest, Hungary native is tied for third on the team in assists with 16 to date. Kreisz has registered points in three of Minnesota's last four games, including two multi-point performances.
Lindsay has provided a boost to the Gophers' offense, scoring eight goals and adding eight assists this season. After scoring six points over five games in December, including two multipoint games, Lindsay was named WCHA Rookie of the Month. The Minnetonka, Minn. native registered three goals and two assists in a career-best weekend series at Bemidji State (Dec. 1-2). Lindsay currently ranks fourth on the team in goals scored after contributing a goal and an assist at Bemidji State (Jan. 20).
The last Minnesota Golden Gopher to receive this award was Peyton Hemp in 2022.
