Garcia Named NABC Second Team All-District

University of Minnesota men's basketball standout Dawson Garcia has been named to the National Association Of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District Team, the organization announced today. Garcia landed a spot on the Second Team, his first honor as a Gopher.
It marks the first time Gopher has earned NABC All-District honors since Daniel Oturu in 2020. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.
Garcia, a forward from Savage, Minn., leads the Golden Gophers in points (514), points per game (17.7), rebounds (191), rebounds per game (6.6), free throws attempted (173), free throws made (138) and free throw percentage (.798). He ranks second on the team in minutes played, averaging 32.1, has started in all 29 games he's participated in, and is also shooting 48.2 percent from the field.
