Nolan Summerfield Promoted to Director of Operations

Summerfield spent the 2024 season as assistant director of operations
MINNEAPOLIS – Head coach Ty McDevitt and the University of Minnesota baseball team announced that Nolan Summerfield has been promoted to director of operations.
"I'm excited to announce Nolan as our director of operations," McDevitt said. "Nolan has served our program in many capacities as a student manager, bullpen catcher, and student coach - he's ready for the next step. We're excited to leverage his organization skills along with his knowledge of advanced scouting and player development technology to enhance our student athlete experience."

Summerfield first joined the program as a student manager and bullpen catcher in the fall of 2020 before being promoted to head student manager in 2023. During the 2024 season, Summerfield served as the assistant director of operations.

"I am excited to continue working for the program that has given so much to myself and so many others over 136 years," said Summerfield. "I look forward to doing whatever I can to help create a winning culture and top tier collegiate experience for our student-athletes for many years to come"

During his three seasons as a student manager, he assisted with practice preparation, generating scouting reports, team travel and other advanced reporting.Â

Last season, he assisted with travel, meals and day-to-day program operations.

Summerfield also served as the director of camps for the Minnesota Instructional school, and also coaches youth baseball at Complete Game Baseball in Lino Lakes.Â
