MINNEAPOLIS - University of Minnesota soccer head coach Erin Chastain has announced the addition of forward Davy Mokelke. Mokelke will join Minnesota this fall as a freshman following the signing of an acceptance of admission letter earlier this week.
"I chose the University of Minnesota because of the rigorous academic programs, alongside the highly competitive athletic programs," said Mokelke. "I love the large campus, and I'm looking forward to being able to represent where I am from! I also felt very at home on campus, and the coaching staff the soccer team has is so dedicated, supportive, and knowledgeable!"
A recent graduate of Wayzata High School, Mokelke competed for the Trojans girls' soccer and hockey varsity squads. Originally from Flagstaff, Ariz., Mokelke was with the Utah Royals ECNL and GA teams from 2020-22. Mokelke most recently joined the Salvo GA girls prep team. In hockey, Mokelke received invites to the USA National Invite camps back-to-back years.
Mokelke will join the Gophers alongside Wayzata soccer teammate, Grace Estby.
The daughter of Emily and Eric Mokelke, she has one older brother, Miles. Miles is a competitive cyclist for the University of Utah, her father played tennis at rival Big Ten school, Wisconsin, while her mother competed in downhill skiing at the University of Colorado - Boulder.
