Lindenberg Lands on Chuck Bednarik Award Preseason Watch List

Linebacker has 115 tackles in 26 career games
University of Minnesota linebacker Cody Lindenberg was named to the Chuck Bednarik Award preseason watch list today by the Maxwell Football Club today. The award is presented annually to the outstanding defensive player in college football.
Lindenberg played in four games last season and made 31 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and forced one fumble. He missed nine games with an injury.
In his career, he has played in 26 games and has made 115 tackles (72 solo) and has 7.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He has also broken up two passes and forced one fumble.
The three-time Academic All-Big Ten nominee was named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2022.
Lindenberg and the Gophers open the season against North Carolina at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29 at Huntington Bank Stadium. The game will be broadcast nationally by FOX and can be heard on the Gopher Radio Network.
