Gophers Officially Announce 2024 Fall Schedule

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota tennis team is scheduled to compete in six tournaments this fall season, including a 12-team home tournament this weekend at Baseline Center.
Minnesota hosts the 12th-annual Gopher Invitational at Baseline Tennis Center from Sept. 20-22. Play will begin at 9:00 a.m. CT on each day. With 12 teams and 100 athletes in this year's event, it marks the largest event hosted at Baseline Tennis Center. Minnesota notched 12 doubles wins and 14 singles wins in last year's event under head coach Lois Arterberry.
The Maroon and Gold are then set to compete in the ITA Central Regional Championships from Oct. 9-14, which will be held by the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tenn.
The Gophers will continue south as they compete in the Dennis Van Der Meer Shipyard Cup from Oct. 21-27 in Hilton Head, S.C.
The team will then compete in the ITF W15 from Nov. 4-10 in Champaign, Ill.
Rounding out the fall season will be a trip to Northridge, California for the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) Fall Invitational, taking place Nov. 8-10.
Arterberry and assistant coach Anastasia Pennington will be coaching for their second season together at the 'U'.
This year's roster features several new faces and several returners. The new faces include freshmen student-athletes Deniz Turan and Nora Knezevic, as well as transfers Yinong Ma, Jeselle Ante, Arina Valitova, and Anlin Xie. They join returning players Sofia Pinto, Anali Kocevar, Mia Liepert and Aiva Schmitz for the 2024-2025 campaign.
Additional schedule information, including the spring schedule and match times will be announced at a later date.
