Minnesota Ranks Third in USCHO Preseason Poll

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota women's hockey program comes in at No. 3 in the USCHO.com Preseason Division I Women's Poll, U.S. College Hockey Online announced Monday.
The USCHO.com poll is compiled weekly and consists of 15 voters, including coaches and women's hockey writers from across the country. The site provides in-depth coverage of college hockey.
The WCHA once again has representation at the top of the preseason rankings, as Ohio State (No. 1) and Wisconsin (No. 2) join Minnesota in the top three. Minnesota Duluth ranks No. 7 and St. Cloud State sits at No. 11 to join the Gophers among the nation's preseason top 15.
The 28th season of Gopher Women's Hockey begins on Sept. 27 when the Maroon and Gold travel to Storrs, Conn. for a matchup against UConn. The Gophers' home opener is scheduled for Oct. 4 against Boston University.
