9/19/2024 3:49:00 PM | Men's Basketball
The Big Ten Conference has announced the University of Minnesota men's basketball's 20-game Big Ten schedule today, which features 10 games at Williams Arena and another 10 in road competition. Start times and network designations for all conference and nonconference games will be announced at the end of September.
Minnesota's nonconference schedule was announced earlier this year. Nine additional games will make up 19 contests at Williams Arena this upcoming season. Two exhibition games have also been scheduled for October 19 and October 29 vs. Bemidji State and Hamline.
The Golden Gophers open the Big Ten slate with a home game against Michigan State on December 4 and travel to Indiana on December 9 to face Indiana in Bloomington, Ind.
Minnesota resumes Big Ten action by hosting back-to-back games on January 2 and January 6, when the Purdue Boilermakers and the Ohio State Buckeyes come to town. Minnesota is then on the road for two straight when it travels to Madison, Wis., to face the Wisconsin Badgers on January 10, and College Park, Md., to face Maryland on January 13. Michigan visits Williams Arena on January 16, while the Gophers are on the road at Iowa on January 21. The Gophers close out January with a home game vs. Oregon (January 25) and at Michigan State (January 28).
The Gophers open the month of February with a Saturday, February 1, home game against Washington and a Tuesday, February 4, game at Penn State. Illinois comes to Williams Arena on February 8. Minnesota travels west to face USC and UCLA on February 15 and February 18 this season and returns to Williams Arena for two straight against Penn State on February 22 and Northwestern on February 25.
After a road game on March 1 at Nebraska, the Gophers close out the home season against border rival Wisconsin on March 5. Minnesota closes the regular season on Sunday, March 9 at Rutgers.
The 28th Big Ten MBB Tournament will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, through Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Minnesota returns five letterwinners from last year's program, including the top returning Big Ten scorer, Dawson Garcia. Last season at the 'U', Garcia averaged 17.6 points, while Mike Mitchell Jr. ranked third on the team in points (10.2 per game) and first in three-pointers (71). Sixth-man Parker Fox also returns after seeing action in every game last season. The Gophers also welcome 11 newcomers to the team.
Season ticket holders and Gopher Score members will be able to purchase single-game tickets on Tuesday, September 24, followed by the general public on Thursday, September 26.
