Perich Named to Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for Second Time this Season

For the second time this season, University of Minnesota defensive back Koi Perich was named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll. 

The standout defensive back was recognized this week after recording five tackles and returning a game-winning interception 27 yards for a touchdown against Purdue. Minnesota beat the Boilermakers 27-20 with Perich's first career touchdown being the final score of the game. The Esko, Minn., native also logged 16 punt return yards and 33 kickoff return yards in the win. 

The Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse, is presented annually to the most versatile player in major college football.

Perich has played offense, defense and special teams this season. On offense, he has totaled three catches for 55 yards. On defense, he has 35 tackles (13 solo), two tackles for loss and one sack. He also has one interception and has broken up one pass. Perich has returned seven kickoffs this year for 161 yards and 10 punts for 80 yards.

The sophomore was previously named to the honor roll after making 11 tackles and recording 96 all-purpose yards against Rutgers.
