Minnesota Releases Spring 2025 Slate

The Gophers will play at home on March 29, April 12
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota volleyball program has announced the dates and opponents for its 2025 spring schedule. The 'U' will have five total matches, including two at home.
Minnesota will take on Northern Iowa at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 29 at Maturi Pavilion to open its spring slate. The match will be open and free to the public. No streaming will be available.Â
After that, the 'U' hits the road to play South Dakota State and Creighton in Brookings, S.D. The SDSU match will be at 10 a.m. CT, followed by playing Creighton at 1:30 p.m. Ticket information will be available at a later date.
The Gophers come back home to host St. Thomas on Saturday, April 12 for a 3 p.m. matinee at the Pav. This match will once again be free and open to the public, with no stream.
Spring season ends on Saturday, April 26 with a match against South Dakota in Madison, S.D. The match will be played at either 1 p.m. Tickets for this match will be on sale starting Feb. 18.
Minnesota heads into the 2025 season after making the Round of 32 for the second straight year but improving to a 21-11 (13-7 Big Ten) record. The Gophers tallied two top-10 ranked wins in 2024, including their first win over a No. 1 ranked team since 2019. All-American and First Team All-Big Ten outside Julia Hanson returns to pace the Gophers while five newcomers (three freshmen, two transfers) were added this spring.
Departures from last year include setter Melani Shaffmaster (AVCAÂ All-America, First Team All-Big Ten), opposite Lydia Grote (First Team All-Big Ten) and middle Phoebe Awoleye (Second Team All-Big Ten).
