Morrow, Primerano Named Top-3 WCHA Postseason Award Finalists

MINNEAPOLIS - Junior defender Sydney Morrow and freshman defender Chloe Primerano were each named finalists for 2024-25 WCHA Postseason Awards, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Morrow is one of three finalists for WCHA Defender of the Year, while Primerano is one of three finalists for WCHA Rookie of the Year.

Morrow was announced as a WCHA Defender of the Year Finalist after being named to the All-WCHA Second Team on Monday. In her first year in Maroon & Gold after transferring from Colgate, she leads Gopher defenders in points (28) and goals (10), ranks third in blocked shots (46), and co-leads the team in power play goals (5). Morrow was named WCHA Defender of the Week on Jan. 6 before she was ultimately selected as January's WCHA Defender of the Month. 

Chloe Primerano - WCHA Rookie of the Year Finalist
Primerano was announced as a WCHA Rookie of the Year Finalist after being named to both the All-WCHA Third Team and the WCHA All-Rookie Team on Monday. In 31 games, the North Vancouver, B.C. native tallied the second-most points for a Gopher defender this season (26). Her 22 assists ranked second on the team and 12th in the WCHA, while her .79 assists per game ranked ninth in the conference. Primerano was named WCHA Defender of the Week on Dec. 9, December's WCHA Defender of the Month, and WCHA Rookie of the Week on Jan. 20. Prior to the season, she was selected as the WCHA Preseason Freshman of the Year.

The winners of the 2024-25 WCHA Postseason Awards will be announced on Thursday, March 6.
