Wethington Named Finalist for WCHA Outstanding Student-Athlete of the Year

MINNEAPOLIS - Fifth-year forward Audrey Wethington was named as one of four finalists for the WCHA Outstanding Student-Athlete of the Year, the conference announced Wednesday. This marks the second consecutive season that Wethington was selected as a finalist for the WCHA Outstanding Student-Athlete of the Year award.
In addition to appearing in 170 games, third-most in program history, and recording 69 career points (20g-49a) on the ice, the Edina, Minn. native has racked up several accolades throughout her time as a student-athlete in Maroon & Gold. Wethington was a 2025 Hockey Humanitarian nominee, a top-three finalist for the 2023-24 WCHA Outstanding-Student Athlete honor, a three-time selection for WCHA Scholar-Athlete and the WCHA All-Academic Team, a 2024 and 2025 PNC Achiever Award Recipient, a 2023 Elite-90 Award runner-up, a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, and a three-time 2021-22 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
She completed her undergraduate studies in Dec. 2023 with a 4.0 GPA and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. As a graduate student, Wethington is pursuing a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences, and will be attending medical school next fall, embarking on a journey that promises a bright and impactful future.
The winners of the 2024-25 WCHA Postseason Awards will be announced on Thursday, March 6.
