MINNEAPOLIS - Freshman defender Chloe Primerano has been named March's National Rookie of the Month by the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA), marking the first such honor of Primerano's career.
The North Vancouver, B.C. native finished the season strong by leading Gopher defenders with eight points during the month of March. Her seven assists were also team-high in that time frame. Primerano tallied a career-high three assists in Minnesota's WCHA quarterfinal-clinching victory over Minnesota State, and scored the first postseason goal of her career in the Gophers' WCHA Final Faceoff Semifinal victory over Ohio State.
Primerano excelled in her first season of college hockey, tallying 31 points in 35 games. Additionally, she was named to the USCHO All-Rookie Team, a WCHA Rookie of the Year Finalist, and earned All-WCHA Third Team and WCHA All-Rookie Team honors this season. Her 26 assists ranked second amongst all WCHA blueliners.
Primerano is the second Gopher to earn a national monthly recognition for the 2024-25 season, following Abbey Murphy's back-to-back National Player of the Month honors for December and January.
