Why Minnesota?
I felt like it was the best fit for me basketball wise. It's a good opportunity for this program to turn some heads. I really like the guys and the coaching staff a lot so it fit well for me.Â
What age did you first get started in basketball and did you play other sports?Â
I've played basketball for as long as I can remember. I don't think there was a day where I wasn't focused on basketball. I also played baseball and tried football, but that didn't work out too well. I stopped playing baseball in seventh grade and continued solely on basketball.Â
We're past the halfway summer mark, what have you learned from this coaching staff or teammates?
Our chemistry is really good already. It's hard to tell when you're just getting started, but I feel like everyone gets along well with one another. We understand how to compete. This group is good at keeping that grittiness and competitiveness on the court, but still get along off the court when it's done. I think that's big. Our coaching staff is so supportive. They understand how the game goes, they are so knowledgeable about what happens on the court. They also know how the stuff off the court can affect what's on the court. I think that's big as well.Â
Before your visit, had you ever been to Minnesota before? What's your thoughts on the city/state?Â
I had been to Minnesota once for a wedding, but other than that, I hadn't spent much time here. I like it, the weather has been pretty good so far. You may need to ask me that question when winter rolls around, but I'm liking it so far! I've also had some time to get away and do some golfing and fishing.Â
Speaking of fishing, where have you gone while in Minnesota? What's the biggest fish you've ever caught?
So far, I've gone to Lake Hiawatha, Lake Harriet and I plan to go to Lake Smetana soon. The biggest fish I ever caught was an 11-pound large mouth bass. I caught like a 45-pound catfish on a jug line if you count that.Â
What's something you'd like to accomplish before closing out your college career?Â
I want to win something, a Thanksgiving tournament, a championship of some sort. I'd love to make it back to March Madness. That's always the goal.Â
What's something that most people don't know about you?Â
I'm very organized. I like to know where my stuff is so I'd have to say a planner and organizer.Â
What are you looking forward to this year?
Just seeing the whole process with these guys that I've already learned so much about. I feel like we've all grown together so that's the most exciting thing about it all, especially now in this day and age when everyone is new.Â
Favorite Food: Chicken Parmesan
If I wasn't playing basketball, I'd be: FishingÂ
Favorite NBA Player or Team: I gotta say Hunter Tyson and the Denver Nuggets. Gotta stay with family.Â
Guilty Binge Watch: I watch a lot of YouTube but also All-American on Netflix
