Gophers Drop 5-3 Decision to Chippewas on Final Day of Gopher Indoor Classic

MINNEAPOLIS – The Gophers fell to Central Michigan on the final day of the Gopher Indoor Classic at U.S. Bank Stadium, 5-3.
Natalie Susa (0-4) came out of the bullpen for Minnesota (6-9) and took the loss. Macy Richardson was a bright spot for the Golden Gophers, starting the ballgame and throwing 5.1 scoreless innings, allowing two hits, with two walks and five strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Gophers got on the scoreboard first, starting in the second inning. Sacrlett Kuhn came across to score the lone run of the inning for Minnesota and get them on the board.
The Golden Gophers lost the lead they built in the second, but responded later in the ballgame. Minnesota scored twice on Tara Wolocko's two-run homer, which brought the score to 5-3 in favor of the Chippewas. The Golden Gophers were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
