Geno Cappelletti - M Club Hall of Fame

Football, 1952-54
HOF Class of 2001
One of Minnesota football’s first great kickers, Geno Cappelletti led his team in scoring by kicks in 1952, 1953 and 1954. He also scored three touchdowns as a receiver in 1952.
Cappelletti kicked 18 of 18 point-after-touchdowns (PATs) in 1953, and another 13 of 12 in 1954, for a team-record 31 straight. The native of Keewatin, MN, also led the team in punting, with a 37.9 yards-per-punt average in 1954.
Cappelletti played for the American Football League’s Boston Patriots where, from 1960 to 1970, he became the league and team’s all-time leading scorer with 42 TDs, 176 field goals and 342 PATs, totaling 1,130 points. He was also among the AFL’s all-time top-10 receivers with 292 catches good for 4,589 yards. “Duke” was the 1964 AFL MVP, and a five-time league All-Star.
He became a color commentator on New England (formerly Boston) Patriots radio broadcasts; that team later honored him by retiring his No. 20.
