Tim LaFleur
Men’s Gymnastics, 1974, 1976-78
HOF Class of 1997

Tim LaFleur in 1978 became Minnesota’s first winner of the Nissan Award, honoring the nation’s best senior gymnast and scholar athlete.

He was a three-time Big Ten all-around champion, and a winner of the Big Ten Medal of Honor. He excelled in international competition, too, winning a bronze medal as a member of the 1979 world championship team, and later serving as an alternate on the U.S. Olympic Team.

With his brother Jeff, who competed in gymnastics for Minnesota at the same time, Tim LaFleur started a successful gymnastics school in Florida.
