Qualifications

Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Minnesota
Basic knowledge of computers (including powerpoint) and audio/video equipment (mixers, microphones, projectors) and the ability to set up equipment
Customer Service Skills
An eagerness and willingness to learn
Audio background is preferred

About the Job

The Audio Visual Technician assists the full time staff in providing AV support for all athletic sporting events as well as premium events in our venues.
AV Support includes serving as the point of contact for clients regarding technical needs prior to, or during an event, as well as troubleshooting issues that may arise.
Working hours occur primarily during Gopher Athletics events, including nights, weekends and some holiday hours.
Part-time, hourly student position.

Responsibilities may include:

Setup premium events with necessary background music, projectors, laptops and microphones, as well as remain on site for the duration of the event to troubleshoot any issues.
Operate audio mixing console for Gopher Athletic events in addition to other events using Gopher Athletic Venues.
Set up press conferences with the necessary microphones, lights and speakers.
Tear down equipment including lights, portable speakers, laptops, microphones and audio cables.
