Carly Anderson, Ph.D., LP, CMPC is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in sport psychology. She is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant for the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and listed on the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) Mental Health and Mental Performance Directories, the NFL Player Association Mental Health Referral Directory and the Directory of Mental Health Service Providers for the National Basketball Players Association.
Dr. Anderson is also the sport psychologist for the USA Hockey Women’s National Team program, and USA Curling’s National Team. She was a staff member of Team USA at both the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea & Beijing, China. The US Men’s Curling team won gold in 2018. At the games, she received the United States Order of Ikkos Medallion from the team members honoring her contribution to their success.
Dr. Anderson is from Seattle, WA and earned her undergraduate degrees in Psychology (B.S.) and Communication Studies (B.A.) from UCLA. Dr. Anderson was a gymnast at UCLA, where she won three NCAA national team titles. She went on to earn her MA and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in sport psychology from the University of North Texas (UNT).
Dr. Anderson co-owns Premier Sport Psychology, PLLC with her husband, Justin Anderson. She currently directs the sport psychology services for the University of Minnesota Athletic Department. Dr. Anderson serves on the Big-10 Mental Health and Wellness Advisory Group.
Previously, Dr. Anderson worked at the Melrose Center from 2009-2011 and contributed to the National Eating Disorder Association’s Coach & Trainer Toolkit. She completed her predoctoral internship in the Wichita Collaborative Psychology Internship Program and worked in the Center for Sport Psychology & Performance Excellence at UNT. She was an NCAA research grant recipient focused on learning more about female athletes & well-being in Division I colleges nationwide.
Dr. Anderson is a professional member of the American Psychological Association Division 47-Sport Psychology & Division 45 –Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Ethnicity and Race, the Minnesota Psychological Association and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
