2021 • JUNIOR SEASON: Played in nine games, mostly on special teams. PREVIOUS COLLEGE: Spent three years at Utah State and saw action in 958 snaps in 23 games • in 2020, played in all six games as a redshirt sophomore after earning Athlon Sports Fourth-Team All-Mountain West preseason honors • in 2019, started all 13 games at right guard as a redshirt freshman in 2019 and finished the season playing 889 snaps • earned academic All-Mountain West honors • in 2018, played in four games before redshirting • 2018 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduate of Herriman High School in Herriman, Utah • wore No. 75 for the Mustangs • as a senior, recorded 12 tackles, which included 1.0 sacks and 2.0 tackles for loss • earned Utah Class 6A Region 3 first-team honors as an offensive lineman • helped lead the Mustangs to a 4-1 record in region play • led Herriman to an 11-3 record and the 5A state championship during his sophomore season in 2015 • also competed in track & field, throwing shot put and discus • placed sixth in the shot put at the 2017 state championship • a member of the honor roll • ranked as the No. 109 offensive guard in the nation and No. 31 prospect in Utah by 247Sports • coached by Dustin Pearce.

PERSONAL: Son of Kevin and Randi Shaw • has two siblings (Ty and Bella) • brother, Ty, played college football at Utah State and was an offensive lineman • Karter and Ty both started on the Utah State offensive line in 2019 and were the only pair of brothers to start on the offensive line in division one college football that year • father, Kevin, played professional baseball and spent time with the Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds organizations.
